Enrich your life…..travel, travel, travel. The experience of visiting new places is priceless, but it does cost moolah, so this website is dedicated to those who want the experience, but still need to pay the bills!
I have researched many different websites for the best travel deals over the years and www.expedia.com always comes out the winner. I will continue to search as I am not married to Expedia, but certainly love to promote sites that give me the biggest bang for my buck.
Top Money Saving Tips:
Tip #1
Here is the lowdown on saving money when traveling - bundle! That’s right bundling air, hotel and car rental will save you a ridiculous amount of money. All inclusive resort packages are also a great bargain, I have not found a better way to save more money yet!
Tip#2
Stay flexible on the days you can travel whenever possible. If you can, check off the box that says “My dates are flexible” on Expedia or any travel site where available. The site does all the work and it will typically give you a calendar of dates and prices to select from, so you will know exactly how much money you can save flying on a Tuesday versus a Saturday for example.
Tip#3
Sign up for any and all rewards programs with airlines, hotels and car rental companies, these programs are free to join and can help you travel for free or at a reduced price. Check out www.insideflyer.com they cover the latest news on travel reward programs and they are an excellent source of information.
Tip#4
Open up a travel rewards credit card. There are so many credit cards out there that it will make your head spin, so go to this website www.creditcards.com and search under the “Travel & Airline Credit cards” hyperlink on the left hand side of the page. They will give you a comparison of the best travel credit cards out there, some with and without annual fees. Try really hard to pay off your balances at the end of the month or within a short period of time, interest charges rack up. Travel is by far an amazing experience, but buying food and paying the rent is important too.
Tip#5
Check your work place to see if they have any negotiated discounts employees can take advantage of for leisure travel. Seek out discounts from different organizations you may belong to already. For example AARP gives great travel discounts via their website at www.aarp.com and you can join for $16 annually and membership includes your spouse or partner for free.
